“Makenze and I are raising our boys here and care deeply about our Commonwealth. That’s why we’re committed to helping public servants who believe in a brighter future for the men, women, and children of all 120 counties. I still share the same bold vision for our Kentucky and will never waver on making our state a better place to live and work.”

ABOUT DANIEL

Daniel grew up in Elizabethtown, where his parents owned a coffee shop. He was active in youth sports and his local church.

He graduated from John Hardin High School and attended The University of Louisville, where he earned his undergraduate and legal degrees. Daniel also played football for the Cardinals.

After graduation, he completed a federal judicial clerkship before working in private practice in Louisville. He then served as legal counsel to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, where Daniel successfully spearheaded the confirmation processes for conservative federal judges, including Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

He then successfully ran for Attorney General, where he was the first African American independently elected to statewide office in Kentucky’s history and the first Republican elected to the Attorney General’s office since 1948.

As Attorney General, Daniel was committed to defending the laws of the Commonwealth. He is a proud lifelong Republican with an unmatched record of standing up for conservative values.

Today, Daniel lives in Louisville with his wife, Makenze, and two children.
